"Child sitting"

So we got to watch our neighbors, Misty and Steve's little boy Riley on Thursday night for a couple of hours. He was a really great kid, super easy to watch. (and he loves Calvin and Hobbes, and any kid that loves them is welcome in our home anytime!) Pretty much he just schooled Joe in Xbox. They had a good time fighting each other in Star Wars and Spiderman. Below is how Joe child sits =)

The boys being mesmerized by video games. I think Riley enjoyed the new competition.

In order to be the green goblin, Riley had to beat Joe in an arm wrestling competition. It looks like he is in the lead.

He couldn't just settle for a win, Riley had to demolish his competition =)

Easter 2008

Sunday was Easter and Joe and I woke up at 5:10am in order to make it to the sunrise service at church. There was special incentive to go to the morning service because the hospitality committee was going to be making a huge breakfast!! And anywhere there is food I am there =) They had sausage, eggs, hashbrowns, biscuits, waffles, juice and coffee. It was all wonderful! The torturous part was that during the entire sermon, you could SMELL all of that wonderfulness from in the sanctuary. After breakfast I think that I went into a food coma because when Joe and I got home at 8:30am I hopped back into bed (which is so not like me) and slept for another 3 hours =) That is when I know I am carrying a little bit of Joey in me.

We had easter dinner at mamoo and pop-pops new house (our neighbors). And it was more delicious food. We got to hang out with Savannah, Logan and Elsa which was great. They were in their spiffy new easter clothes and looked as cute as ever! They went on an easter egg hunt after dinner was over and did a great job hunting for the eggs.

There are all of the beautiful nieces and nephews all decked out for easter!

Accidents with tights will happen!

Savannah was good at finding the eggs, she was going all over the place!

Uncle Joey might have been assisting a little with this find...

We Shall See!!!

I decided to try my luck and take one of those baby gender predictor's that they have on the Internet bc we are just dying to find out and next week can't come soon enough.

The funny thing with this website
http://pregnancy.about.com/library/quiz/boygirl/blboygirlquiz.htm
was that all the questions were geared towards Christina so I would email her constantly and ask her if this has changed, is your pillow facing north or south, are your feet colder now, etc.. Finally, here are the results, but remember it's not totally accurate and it is coming from the Internet:

You answered 6 items out of 10 Yes.
Your score is 60%. Congratulations! According to the Old Wives it's a boy!

Dr's Appointment

I went to the doctor yesterday and got to hear the heartbeat. I had a 4:15 appointment and Joe and I left work at 3:00. It is really good that we did because we didn't make it to the office until 4:14 so I was definitely worked up by the time I got there. I am just glad that my blood pressure wasn't way off =) But I think I was the last patient so they saw me right away. This is a really good thing because I have to give them a urine sample each time I go and I had to pee like a race horse by the time I got to the office! Then they just weighed me and took my blood pressure and then I saw the doctor. We listened to the heartbeat which is always amazing and reassuring. I wished that I had one of those machines, I would love to just listen any time I wanted to. They aren't very high tech with the heart monitor. When I asked the dr. what the BPM were he thought about it for a second and said, "it sounds like 150 BPMs". Not so accurate, but it sounded as strong as the last time.

I am beginning to feel some movement. They are like tiny little jabs. I never really felt the nice butterfly kisses, I probably just thought they were gas or couldn't really feel it. But yesterday I met Joe for lunch near his work and I had to take the metro and walk probably for a half a mile there and back during lunch and the baby was either really energized and excited or really mad and upset! I can't figure it out yet. We will have to see when they come out if they are laid back or energetic and then we will know which it was. We went to Corner Bakery which was delicious! I had the Chicken Pomodoro Panini, which has chicken, provolone, spinach, tomato, and pesto mayo. It was really good. I had to keep Joe away from my food.

I think I might be having some acid reflux. I say might be because I have never had acid reflux or heart burn before so I don't really know what it is like. But sometimes after a meal or in between I get a burning sensation in the back of my throat and sometimes you feel some saliva or something try to come up. Sorry if it is disgusting.

Week 17 - picture

I took this picture on Monday or Tuesday and as you can see it has taken me a few days to actually post it... I am more productive on Saturdays because I have morning energy. That energy gets sucked up when I go to work during the week, so by the time I get home I am a vegetable and just want to sit. =)

Movin On Up!!!

Well, the day had finally come, my parents move to North Beach to be our new next door neighbors!! That's right, I am not sure if we have mentioned this before in any of our other posts, but my parents bought the house that is right next door to us, there is literally only one house separating us. A lot of people have come up to us and asked "How do you feel about this", and all Christina and I can say is that we are extremely happy that they are moving out of the dorf and into the Norf, hehehe. We are really excited for our new neighbors and we know it is going to be great.

So the move happened this past Saturday and boy was it a move. My dad used his vacation time all of last week to prepare for the move, boxing, labeling, not throwing away his junk, etc... For anyone who has not been to my parents old home, it is a 9 bedroom maze with 5 Full Size (not those tiny tin ones) sheds in the back yard. My dad likes to collect random things that never makes sense to anyone. And I still think he hasn't realized that he moved into a 3 bedroom house now, not 9 anymore.
We were able to get a huge turn out for the event (thanks to DBC) and we had roughly over 20 people come out. We started at 9am and we got finished at 9pm. It took two 26-foot Penske truck loads, and 10 truck loads to finish the job.
Everyone that came out were so great, they never complained, and just worked until it was done. The weather early last week called for downpours all day Saturday and God was definitely listening to our prayers, bc it was absolutely a perfect day.
We had some funny reactions from everyone once they saw my parents old place. A good friend of ours from DBC, Mike Burr, who is also a fellow collector of random items and has 5 garage and 3 storage units full of stuff, said that seeing all my dad's stuff, has "Scared him Straight".
I finally got to fulfill my life-long dream of driving a huge moving truck. Those who were at our house move the previous year remember the incident of the Uhaul Nat zee's. This time we went through Penske and they were great, and driving the huge truck definitely boosted my ego even higher.
A lot of people wondered where we were going to put all of my dad's stuff, bc he did throw away a lot of his stuff, but not A LOT of stuff. Stuff that went into their guest room went, stuff that went into their office went, stuff that went into their master bedroom went, and stuff that went into the basement piled high. He ended up getting a storage unit close to the house as well bc there is still some more organizing left to do.
Once they get everything finalized and they start making it into their own home, I believe it will be the house of their dreams.

From my parents and my family, THANK YOU to everyone that came out this past Saturday and helped out, we appreciated it more than you will ever know.

A Weir Surprise!!!

Christina and I look forward to reading Caleb, Adrienne & Ben's blog daily, and here is an exert from a recent one from theirs www.jointhefray.blogspot.com :

Ben's Trip North- Part 3 (North Beach, MD)
The last part of our North trip was spent with our friends Joe and Christina who live in North Beach, MD. They bought a bed for their guest room just for us...hehehe...j/k. They took us to the Amish Market which had the best food known to man. I think I gained more in one day there than I gained a whole week during my pregnancy! We had fried chicken (where the meat just melted in your mouth), pretzel pepperoni rolls (think hot pocket wrapped in an Auntie Ann pretzel), homemade bread and pretzels (better than Auntie Ann's, though).Christina is due in late August, so we let them "borrow" Ben to practice. Joe got to carry him around in the baby carrier and change his diaper. At one point he asked, "Are these lights too bright for him?" To which I responded, "Yes, Joe, please change the bulbs to a lower wattage." It was really fun to take advantage of all he has yet to learn! What are friends for, right? Also, while we were there, we asked them to be Ben's Godfather and Godmother. They are amazing friends that are like family to us. We admire their heart for the Lord and have always appreciated their friendship. We really wanted to choose Godparents that would hold Caleb and I accountable and encourage us to raise Ben in a way that honors God.

Christina and I were asked this when they came to visit and besides my time with Ben in the Baby Bjorn, this was best moment of our trip!!!

Week 16 - Belly Shots

As promised I did come through this week. I will definitely try to get better since I seem to be changing rather quickly. I have two shots one of the end of week 15 (Friday) and then one at the beginning of Week 16 (today). It is crazy how big I look today compared with Friday. Maybe I ate a little too good over the weekend.

Friday was dress down day at work so I got to wear jeans. You can kind of see the belly through the layers.

Today I had to dress more work appropriate but you can definitely see a belly in that dress. It is too funny the difference a couple of days can make.

I will try and get better with taking the belly shots. Week 16 will definitely make it on next week. I promise.

Weir Weekend!

I know that it is almost the weekend again but I am trying to catch up. It has been a hectic week. I am in my final week of class number 10 out of 12 and I had a final project and a group assignment due on Tuesday. But I am glad that is all behind me at the moment and I can take a quick breather. =)

The cough has still not gone away and I think that I might have actually bruised a rib. It might sound a little crazy but it happens and of course there is nothing I can really take. They are letting me take Tylenol (thankfully) so at least that is something. But hopefully it will go away one day and I will remember what it was like not to cough.

So back to the wonderful "Weir Weekend." Caleb, Adrienne, and Ben came up to visit on Friday evening and stayed until Sunday. It was so great to finally meet him. He was the best little baby ever. He smiled and cooed and did all the little cute things babies do. Joe was able to practice changing poopy diapers and it was so exciting to see how he interacted with Ben. I know he is going to make a great dad. (Caleb is a good example for him ;) ) And Adrienne is a great mommy, I know she will be on my speed dial come August/September. On Saturday we were able to take them to Annapolis to walk around and of course sample the awesome Amish fare. Joe tested out the baby Bjorn and loved it! Ben slept pretty much the whole time so I think he enjoyed it as well. It was very nice of Adrienne and Caleb to let us practice for the upcoming parenthood. We need all the practice we can get! We kept having to explain that he was not our baby, that we were just "borrowing" him and we got some really interesting looks. We were also asked to be Ben's Godparents =) We were very excited and honored. We get the opportunity to watch and be a part of seeing Ben grow into a Godly man and will be praying for him all along the way. We are very blessed to have such great friends and no matter what we have in August I know that they are going to get along great with Little Benjamin Asher!

Joe did very well on his second diaper ever. And don't ask how that happened when he has 2 nieces and a nephew.

Doesn't he look like a little man? He is Calebs mini-me.

I think this was Joe's attempt to smuggle Benjamin. He did eventually let him go but it was hard. =)

We caught Ben in a yawn, but look at how tiny!
