Baby "Ali"

Ok since we did find out we were having a little girl I mentioned that I went and bought a Muhammad Ali onesie. I had to show you what it looked like. It is too cute!

Can we come?

I had to show you how cute our babies are... =) We were packing for our trip to GA and they really wanted to come with us. How sad is this...

Week 23/24

I skipped a week because I was in VA for a conference with work and I was all by my lonesome and didn't have the camera with me. (what other excuse can I provide... =) ) The conference went off without a hitch pretty much, thanks to a lot of prayers and a lot of help from coworkers. It kept me very busy and very tired at the end of the day, so it really didn't matter much if the hotel was nice or not, because I think I could have slept wherever I closed my eyes.

This week has flown by as well. I am really busy at work, I am in my last class in my masters program (yay!) and we leave tomorrow to go to GA for Sean's graduation from Ranger school and Jennifer and Sean's Wedding =) A busy weekend for all!

Week 21/22 Pregnancy Pic

There is Abby! She is poking out a little bit more now. It is so funny to me now to walk past a window or a mirror and see my profile from the side. I still haven't realized that I am getting bigger and more pregnant. Many things in my life haven't changed since becomming pregnant so sometimes I forget that I can't do certain things. I still only get 5 or 6 hours of sleep a night which I know is not enough but I seriously can not wind down when I get home from work. My exercise routine hasn't changed but of course the speed and amount has. I think that once everything slows down and I finish with school and work stuff slows down a bit maybe my body will do the same and I can finally realize that I am a preggo!

Nat's Game

Joe won free tickets to the Nat's game through his work. For those of you who do not follow baseball (like myself), the Nat's moved to a new stadium this season. I only know because I see it everyday on our commute home so it was fun to actually go inside. It is a really nice stadium. They actually broke their 9 game losing streak on Sunday too! The squeaked by the Braves 5 to 4.

It was freezing (50) and raining outside though, so not quite the ideal weather for baseball. Joe and I did not pay too close attention to the forecast so we weren't quite prepared for the weather to be cold. Joe had on shorts and I had capri's and a jacket. So we had to make a quick stop by Marshall's on the way to the stadium to get Joe some pants =)

Painting Project Week 1 =)

Saturday even with Joe being a hop a long we were all determined to still get some of the painting done around the house. Jennifer, Jayna, Bailey, Joe and I worked on the foryer, half bath, living room and dining room. We were actually able to get a lot done in those rooms.

Here are some of the pics:

The foryer, living room and bathroom are peanut butter , it looks a little more yellowy in the picture but it is not quite that bright.

The dining room is Virginia Vineyard green which shows up a little darker in the picture but it isn't quite that dark. It makes such a difference when there is color on the walls. It feels so homey, I love it!

20/21 weeks

Since the sonogram my date has moved around and so last week I was 20 or 21 weeks. Abigail is growing a little faster than they had originally thought. This post is a little behind, so I will have 21/22 weeks soon...
Funny story:
Joe and I were at Home Depot last week getting paint and supplies for this weekend. We were in line and there was a man behind us that was just making small talk. He was asking Joe and I if we were painting the nursery. I told him that we had already painted the nursery but we were painting the rest of the house. Then Joe wispers to me, "Do you know that man?" I said no, then Joe very seriously says, "How does he know about the nursery?" Then I had to ask him if he has checked out my BELLY lately?! =) Hehe my husband is so funny sometimes.

Joe's little accident

On Thursday after dinner, Joe's mom and I were going to go for a walk and Joe was going to take the trash up the hill and then go to softball practice. Well Peggy and I were halfway up the hill when I heard my name being screamed out. Needless to say I was nervous and I was trying my best to waddle down the hill as quickly as possible to see what was wrong. Joe had stepped down from one of the retaining walls and had landed wrong and twisted his ankle around to the point he thought that he had broken his ankle.

He was screaming in pain and when I looked around I just saw his mom and I... Two people who could not pick Joe up at this point. So I ran over to the neighbors and luckily Steve was at home and was able to help (as always! we are very lucky to have them next door). We were able to get Joe in the car and I was able to drive him to the hospital. Let me just say that was the LONGEST 15 minutes in the car.

By the time we got to the hospital his ankle had already swelled up. I had to go in and get a wheel chair, but I needed help AGAIN. This has probably been the hardest part about pregnancy. You have to ask for help for just about everything. This is just something I am not used to. I ended up finding someone that was outside to help me get him into the chair. We signed in and then got a little beeper like you would see at a restaurant and then we waited, and waited, and waited. I am telling you what, there is no priority listing at Calvert Memorial, unless you rolled up in an Ambulance. It is first come first served if you walked in. So we waited to even be seen by a nurse for an hour and a half. They finally took him back for xrays.

The results came back with no breaks and no fractures, just a really bad sprain. So he will be hobbling around for a couple of weeks and hopefully everything will go back to normal. I made Joe go into work on Friday, which I know was very hard for him to do but he had a lot of work to get done and it would help to get his mind off of the pain for a little while.
We said that Abigail will need to be put into dance classes in order to learn her balance skills, because she will not inherit anything from her parents! Poor baby =)
The below is what it looked like the next day. It looks like he was beat up!

Sonogram Pics!

Abigail is waving in this picture, saying hi mommy! hi daddy! =) She is already a little character!
This is a picture of her head and her little hands.
This one isn't quite as clear but it is of her head and her chest.
This is the legs wide open shot so mommy knew that she definitely WAS NOT a BOY! Normally they are all balled up and it is more inconclusive but she definitely wanted everyone to know =) They even drew a little arrow to the empty space between her legs but you can hardly see. The technicians also wanted to point out the she was a girl as well.
So these will most likely be the last pics we see of Abigail in my belly. The next time you see her she will most likely be screaming =)

Pink is our new favorite color!

Since we found out we are going to be having a girl, Christina had a special way to show all of her coworkers on Friday if we were going to have a boy or girl. Everyone was so excited to find out at Christina's job that we are going to have a girl and how she showed them. Christina told everyone that she will either wear a pink blouse on Friday or a blue one, and this is the result.

The Verdict Is In!!!

We are having.... A GIRL!!! We are still surprised because we were both thinking we were having a boy. The eating habits and mannerisms... but what can you say? She might just be a little tom boy and I am ok with that. She can be a little fighter (mommy's mini Ali) but we are so excited and blessed to have a healthy baby so far.

We went in to do the sonogram today. We got there 30 minutes early (we were both a little anxious and also you NEVER know about the traffic in DC). They tell you to drink 32oz of water before you come and you are not allowed to go to the bathroom. This is torture for a pregnant person. I have to go to the bathroom practically every hour so sitting in the waiting room for 30 minutes just waiting for your name to be called and trying NOT to think about using the bathroom was difficult. I told Joe there were two rules, he was not allowed to tell me he was going to the bathroom and he was NOT allowed to make me laugh. I did make it and they were right on time with the appointment. (thank goodness!!!)

We had prayed before hand for everything to go well and for the people to be really nice. We got one of the nicest persons! She took her time and showed us everything she was looking at and was talking to the baby the whole time. It was really nice. I got really uncomfortable halfway through because it is really hard to lay on your back for very long. So they let me lay on my side. The baby was moving around so much the technician kept having to chase her around. I think she was posing. She has a lot of her daddy in her already. In one of the pictures she was waving her right hand next to her face. She was moving around so much that they were able to get all of the shots they needed. It was like she was posing for the camera saying, "what about this side, or this side..."

They checked her heart, stomach, kidneys, brain and other vital organs and then moved out to the limbs and then checked the face and eyes. Everything was in working order. Her heartbeat was 143 BPM. It was great to listen to the heartbeat, I wish that they could have had it on the whole time we were there. It is very comforting to listen to.

So it looks like I need to get on a budget and sign up for a sewing class because we are definitely having a baby girl. Hopefully we can scan the pictures in and still be able to see the images. The pictures still don't do her justice but they are something to hold on to for the remaining 17-20 weeks or so... =)

The new due date is August 22nd but little Abigail Elizabeth can come whenever she is good and ready.

I Can't Sit Still!!

Well, today is the day that we will hopefully be able to find out the gender of the baby, as long as they open up their legs when the doctor is there. Christina and I have been so nervous for the last couple of days bc we just want to know, we have our theories, but we want to have a doctor's approval of what our little one is. Our appointment for the sonogram is at 3:30 today. Christina already has planned for tomorrow if we find out its a boy she has a blue blouse to wear and if it is a girl, it will be a pink one. That is how she is going to tell the people at her work bc they are so anxious to know like us. We are running a poll right now with all our friends and about is almost even, 10 say Boy, while 7 say Girl. Some say twins which we both kinda don't like to even think about right now.

Another interesting thing that is happening tonight is my 1st of 3 motorcycle riding classes I get to take. Christina got me the classes for Christmas and it is finally here. It is a 3 day course, and if I pass the written and rode test than I get my Class M license. And my dream will come true finally, where me and best bud Caleb get to cruise down the road together on our bikes. Maybe one day John will convince his lady to let him be a man and get a bike!!

So back to the baby, once we find out, we will update the blog tonight and call all of our friends.

Week 19 Picture

I am getting more of a belly now. I am beginning to feel more movement. I am also beginning to feel the stretching happening. They say it feels like a pull below the belly button. I am definitely glad that I get little weekly emails to let me know that what I am going through is normal. ;) We only have 2 more days until we find out what the little baby is that is moving inside of me!!! We are so excited!

Joe's 27th Birthday!!!

Joe turned 27 on Sunday =) I got to wake him up at 7:30 and then right after I woke him up he got his first birthday phone call from Emily Hancock who shares a birthday with him. Then he got to open his birthday presents. We didn't have breakfast stuff so we got to go to McD's for breakfast =) I was kind of happy about not having to cook or clean up. So he had a pretty good morning if you ask me ;) In the afternoon we had a panini party with some of our family and friends. We had a great time together and then Joe, Juan, and Steve reminiced around the GI Joe Movie.

Jayna hooked Joe up with the GI Joe cartoon series and the movie on DVD! He was so siked =)

Argghh! Logan was a pirate for the party. It came on the bag from Aunt JJ.

Juan gave Joe a bundle of 60th Birthday balloons, a dinosaur pinata and the Thriller CD - very random but very Joe!

Youth Paintball

We had our monthly paintball event at church on Saturday. About 45 kids showed up for the event which was awesome. They all had a great time as always. I think Joe has more fun sometimes than the kids. For his birthday I got him an "official" paintball jersey so he is SO set for next month. It is camo which is an extra bonus ;)

Bailey, Kelsey, Daniel, and Joe during the event. (Doesn't that gun look real?!)
